Fixed Four-Port UHF RFID Passive Reader

  • RFID makes inventory counting easy

    Mar 18, 2024
With the trend of information-based warehouse management, the types of materials in warehouse management are constantly increasing, and the frequency of inbound and outbound operations is dramatically increasing. Diversified warehouse management has replaced traditional methods. The warehouse management of RFID UHF technology is the automated data collection of various operational processes such as warehouse arrival inspection, warehousing, outbound, transfer, relocation, and inventory counting. This enables the speed and accuracy of data in each stage of warehouse management, making it more intelligent and simplified for enterprises in warehouse goods management. Fixed Four-Port UHF RFID Passive reader and RFID UHF passive tags makes every step of inventory counting easy.     By adopting RFID UHF technology, each item can be uniquely identified, and RFID UHF passive inventory tags correspond one-to-one with the item to form an identification. RFID UHF technology has the characteristics of long-distance, batch rapid inventory, wireless transmission, and suitability for various environments. Warehouse inventory mainly collects data from various operational processes such as inbound, outbound, return, and inventory counting, ensuring that enterprises can timely and accurately grasp the real data of inventory, and reasonably maintain and control enterprise inventory.   Generally, RFID UHF passive tags are affixed to the packaging and pallets of each item, and detailed information such as the specific information and storage location of the goods are written in the RFID UHF passive tags. Automatically collect relevant information and record it during various stages of warehousing operations, effectively manage the packing of goods to reduce losses, record product quality during each production process, quickly change information on electronic labels, and achieve simple and fast status of each stage of the product. The automated collection of RFID UHF technology can more effectively achieve quality supervision, thus enabling full tracking of the logistics situation of inventory goods. Save a lot of manpower, material resources, time, reduce error rates and the probability of goods damage, achieve fast and accurate inventory counting, and improve the overall transparency of enterprise logistics.   Warehouse inventory management utilizes RFID wireless recognition technology to verify the quantity and type of items in the warehouse, in order to accurately grasp the inventory quantity. The combination of RFID UHF products and warehouse management system in warehouse management makes warehouse inventory fast, accurate, and reduces labor costs. It is a commonly used method in current warehouse management to improve warehouse efficiency.   RFID UHF warehouse inventory management can shorten the inventory cycle of the warehouse, improve the real-time data, grasp the inventory situation in real time, and thus achieve visual inventory management. Simplify complex workflows, greatly improve work efficiency and production capabilities, and provide powerful assistance for enterprise management to build an informationized, intelligent and modern platform.

  • Why does McDonald's, which uses disposable tableware, consume millions of RFID tags a year?

    Feb 23, 2024
When I was a child, I always had a dream of becoming the manager of a hamburger restaurant. Because this job has several outstanding advantages:   1. Hamburg, French fries, and fried chicken can be eaten freely   2. It's very profitable, and the constant flow of McDonald's customers every day makes me envious   3. The dream of men all over the world: no need to wash dishes after eating, because McDonald's uses disposable tableware.   So, when I learned that McDonald's is now using millions of RFID UHF passive tags a year, I was a bit surprised. Upon careful consideration of my dining experience at McDonald's, it seems that there is nothing that requires RFID tracking, even the utensils are thrown away as soon as they are used up. So, why does McDonald's use so many RFID UHF passive tags?       It is highly likely that RFID will be used in the food industry in 2024, the first year of large-scale application.   Later, I learned that McDonald's use of RFID was not primarily for tracking tableware, but mainly for application in the supply chain. The food industry has always had a demand for supply chain tracking, but in previous RFID applications in the food supply chain, due to the wide variety of products and the presence of a large number of substances such as metals and liquids that cause serious electromagnetic interference in the environment, RFID reading has become quite difficult. Previously, the technological level of the industry could not meet the demand for precise identification in the food supply chain. However, now, some companies in the industry have successfully solved this problem with breakthroughs in label and reader technology, increasing recognition sensitivity to over 99%. Therefore, McDonald's has decided to start large-scale application of RFID. Specifically, McDonald's mainly applies RFID tags in the following areas:   1. Track food packaging materials   Through strategic cooperation with Cainiao Group, McDonald's China has implanted RFID UHF passive tags in food packaging materials, which has two benefits:   Enhance supply chain traceability capability   RFID with unique feature codes on each label enables each food packaging material to have a unique "digital ID" from production to logistics to the restaurant process, helping McDonald's achieve digital monitoring and traceability and supply chain information interconnection and collaboration. Food safety is crucial, affecting consumer health and brand reputation. After adding RFID UHF passive paper sticker tags to food packaging materials, McDonald's can have a clearer understanding of which ingredients and at which stage there may be problems when problems occur.   Improving supply chain efficiency and optimizing inventory management   RFID technology can quickly and accurately read item information, thereby simplifying inventory processes and improving inventory data accuracy. According to the report data released by CAINIAO, after using RFID, the supply chain error rate decreased by 70% and the recognition speed increased by 40%. Inventory of a 500 square meter warehouse used to take 2 days, but now it only takes 10 minutes.   In addition, when the inventory level falls below a specific threshold, the RFID system can automatically trigger replenishment orders to ensure that the restaurant maintains the optimal inventory level and minimizes waste.   2. Monitor temperature sensitive items   By attaching RFID UHF passive ISO180006C sticker tags to temperature sensitive items, McDonald's can monitor real-time temperature and location data of temperature sensitive items. For example, a McDonald's in Europe uses an RFID solution provided by TAG Sensing, which includes a passive RFID embedded body, temperature sensor, clock, printed battery, and a battery driven sensor embedded in a sticky tag. This enables McDonald's to identify any abnormal conditions in the product during transportation.   3. Prevent the loss or damage of reusable items   In France, the new anti waste law requires fast food restaurants with a certain scale and capacity to transition from disposable tableware to reusable tableware, and complete it within three years at the earliest. So, McDonald's in France began using a secure RFID scheme. Baodian has installed fixed RFID UHF long range passive reader in specific areas of the restaurant and affixed RFID UHF passive tags to reusable items to detect items that have been mistakenly discarded along with other waste. "We have saved over one million reusable items that should have been destroyed," the person in charge reported, emphasizing the effectiveness of the system in minimizing waste.
