Flexible RFID UHF Tag

  • RFID Cold Chain Applications and Characteristics

    Sep 28, 2023
At the recently held IOTE Internet of Things conference Shenzhen, China, the technical leader of Zebra Technology in the South and Southwest regions of Greater China, Zhang Yaowu told reporters on and off the internet that using UHF RFID high temperature warning tags can achieve temperature irreversibility and meet the high-precision demand for temperature control in video cold chains.   The RFID UHF passive temperature sensor tag is a very useful tool for storing drugs, food, body care products, etc. Its compact appearance makes it easy to attach to various objects. Cold chain logistics is a special supply chain system that ensures that temperature sensitive products are in an appropriate low-temperature environment during production, storage, transportation, and sales, thereby ensuring product quality.   RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a non-contact automatic identification technology. It can work in various harsh environments and can quickly identify multiple labels. The RFID system mainly consists of tags, readers, and antennas. In order to better utilize the advantages of RFID technology in cold chain logistics, current technology has integrated temperature sensors into RFID tags to achieve real-time temperature monitoring.   Another significant advantage of RFID technology is its read-write ability. When the goods enter the warehouse, electronic labels can be attached to the packaging or pallet, and the goods information can be written into the label. Through RFID readers, can monitor the condition of goods in their warehouses in real-time, as well as the temperature inside refrigerated trucks during transportation, to ensure the quality of food.   In the transportation process, RFID UHF passive temperature sensor tags have replaced traditional barcodes. These tags can not only work continuously for a long time, but also be reused. In order to monitor temperature in real-time, refrigerated trucks need to be equipped with RFID readers and wireless communication devices. In this way, management personnel can receive real-time temperature information and promptly handle possible anomalies, thereby reducing losses.   RFID technology has also demonstrated its unique advantages in the storage process of refrigerated logistics. Traditional inspection methods often require manual counting one by one, but using RFID technology can automatically and quickly complete the counting. In addition, RFID technology can also monitor the temperature of refrigerated warehouses in real-time to ensure the quality of goods.   Transport raw materials from the cold storage to the processing workshop according to production needs. The reader/writer antenna at the entrance of the refrigerated warehouse automatically records all outbound activities and proofreads them with outbound tasks, saving time and improving efficiency. At the front end of the conveyor belt, the reader reads the RFID tag ID of the raw material and obtains a unique code number to associate with subsequent processed products. The finished product is stored and associated with the raw materials to ensure traceability, and then transported to the refrigerated warehouse for sale.   When the supplier receives the ordering information, they are ready to ship. Using RFID technology to integrate verification and outbound operations. Throughout the entire process from inbound to outbound, RFID technology is used from loading to inspection and outbound, improving efficiency, saving time, and improving storage security. After leaving the warehouse, the goods are delivered by refrigerated trucks to the designated delivery point. After completing the delivery, the supplier's task ends.   In the sales process, merchants use RFID systems to understand the status of goods, optimize inventory management, and improve efficiency. RFID technology provides accurate business data and solves the problem of product shortages and losses. Its traceability and real-time temperature monitoring enhance consumer confidence, meet the demand for "green food consumption", and improve enterprise competitiveness. RFID technology may trigger industry changes in cold chain logistics management.   RFID technology provides automatic tracking, temperature monitoring, optimized inventory management, improved logistics efficiency, and ensured food quality and safety. Combined with other logistics technologies, it will cause fundamental changes in the cold and fresh food industry. Looking forward to the future, RFID+temperature sensors, RFID+humidity sensors, RFID+pressure sensors, RFID+liquid level sensors, RFID+LED, RFID+small horns and other products, relying on the passive characteristics of RFID and combined with more diverse application scenarios, will further empower the development of the food industry.
